Hi. I work in a pub, and when fones are left behind we leave them behind the bar for a week waiting for the owner to return, before basically just declaring them a lost cause. A Nokia 6230 was left behind, and after a fortnight hasnt been claimed so I took teh liberty of giving it a good home. However now when I try to call it says Call Rejected. Ive been told that if I unlock the fone, and then use it on a different network, then it will work again? But I have my doubts. Is there anything I can do to get the fone to work again? Im originally from Australia, and Im currently in the UK. If I take the fone home, will it work again, or will it still come up with the error? Any help would be appreciated.
Went to a guy today, under the impression that a cable unlock would fix the fone, if I used it on a different network, but apparently not. He unlocked it (or so he told me) then told me that the fone was barred, not locked and there was nothing he could do about it. He did say that it would work if I took it to another country and used that countries sim card, but there is nothing I could do here, could someone confirm for me please? Thanks!
