Hi there, i'm experiencing a few problems with this board, and wondered if anyone could help me out...

    1. the nvidia firewall utility. I have installed the latest Forceware (50.11). When i am using the web browser interface i keep getting this message when i navigate to settings pages:

"The previous page you were on, is still loading. Please go back to the previous page and wait for the complete page to display and then try this page."

basically i can't set anything up because i can't access the menus, i get that annoying message instead

    2. nvidia onboard sound seems to use a lot of cpu. i ran 3dmark 2005 and on the sound test i got something like 55fps without sound and 45 with 24 sounds. can anyone else comment on this or is it just me?

3.last thing, what improvement does dual channel give on this board. On my previous computer (socket A) i got just about no advantage from dual channel because my fsb was 333mhz, but i believe on socket 939 because the fsb is effectively 1ghz i can combine 2 lots of DDR to give 800mhz effective? And how come i read about 2ghz hypertransport somewhere? i can only set the multiplier to 5x, and this gives 5x200 = 1000mhz

i'm thinking of upgrading to 2x 1GB DDR400 but i have no money at the moment lol

sorry this post was so long, thanks in advance

EDIT: ok, it looked long in that text box !!!!

use your asus utility to find updated drivers for you motherboard i have no probs with mine so it could be you need a different driver

if you use matched ram it should run at twice the speed
i've never measured it so i dun know if it does

windows has a firewall i would use that i'm not sure the nvidia one knows it's job or use norton which has worm protection and thats the same as a firewall

note : these days the huge footprint of norton doesn't really affect the perfomance of 3ghz + machines noticably so no silly remarks about how it uses up to much resources
clever remarks are of course always welcome i'm totally willing to learn
i could also use a darn spell checker lol
