camcorder to laptop

    I have a panasonic pv-D209 camcorder with A/V output. I want to record from the camcorder to my laptop{ XP usb} , can it be done?

    Unless the laptop has a video card or something like a TV card with an analog video input, it won't work.
    It would be less expensive and troublesome to use a standalone DVD recorder and dub the output straight to disk.
