Not quite sure if this is the place to post this question, and if it isn't then please forgive me.

I would like to take a clip from a digital camera that I believe is saved on my PC as an MPEG. What I would like to do is convert that clip into a DVD file to be burned and watched on my stand alone player. Can this be done with Nero Recode and then burned to my dvd? If that file is to be converted would I convert it to an ISO or to another format that dvd players can read. This is my first time doing this sort of ordeal. Any help would be great. Again, if this post is meant for a different area moderators than please teleport this thread.
