Just got a new computer and Easy CD 5.0 Plat. as well as Nero, I tried making a VCD on both programs of a Smallville episode in MPEG format. My PS2 wont play either. In the Easy CD Creator version I was able to pick a NTSC option and I know Playstation 2 supports that. What's up? Any ideas or advice? Am I stupid, can DVD players even play a VCD? I am new to this...

As far as I know it does not. I don't think it has the decoder to play VCDs. I have tried to play different types of VCDs on my PS2, but it does not recognize them. Most DVD players can play VCDs, but not all. Check the DVD player's box for vcd compatibility. By the way, the PS2 box indicates that it can play CDs, and DVDs (video and rom) only.

Ah a big ps2 weakness!! Not a chance at getting mpeg-1 to play. DVD-R works with ps2's though. However it seems to be a bit picky about the media used!
