Hi, my PS2's model no. is SCPH-50002 (PAL)with a serial FA20306658, but it does not have a data code at all. I bought this ps2 in Australia, but it is made in China, is that normal? Also which modchip would be best for my PS2 and where to get them(online), I'm only gona use it for original/back games, not very concerned with online gameplay or hdd extension. Please give me some advice thanks.
To check your version, go here:- http://www.mod-chip.com/ps2version.htm About made in china... forgive my ignorance of the PS2 news, but China only manufactured PS2s recently! And they only sold PS2s in China, (ones that were legit) very recently, and Sony was relucant to do so!
As for made in china, are you sure that you are not looking at the control pad, they are made in china, I think all the ps2 consoles are made in Japan
Actually, not all PS2 consoles are made in Japan. Only the NTSC ones are made in Japan, as for the PAL ones, all I know is that it's Europe based.
Well I had two pal ps2s and they were both made in japan but you could be correct when it comes to different versions
