Just wanted to confirm. I understand that the speed of transcoding avi, dvix, etc. is identical no matter what software or hardware you use. I am curently using Nero Vision, but I thought about getting the Dazzle equipment or using software like AVI2DVD, ConvertXDVD, etc. Is it true that no one transcodes faster than the other? Is the industry standard the same for all sources? The Quality of the Nero Vision DVDs is excellent, but it seems very slow to encode (a GB of avi seemms to take about 3 hours)
all are pretty slow. u could try closing all other apps to help out. get as much cpu and ram as u can afford. this proccess is pretty labor intensive on your pc.
Thanks so much "gamename". I have a 1.6GHz Compaq (God help me) computer, using 1GB of RAM (that's the most it will hold?). I generally have Limewire and Morpheus running minimized along with Spysweeper, Fixit Utilities and PCcillin. Should I try turning some of these off and see if there is a speed increase since I am already maxed out on RAM? If so, should I do it thru MSConfig or just closing them?
