    Hello,

I have a HD Ready 4:3 TV that displays 1080i. I am wondering if I purchase a Bluray player (the PS3), will the picture be distorted on my 4:3 TV? If so, is there a way to change options on the player (PS3) so that the content can display properly (maybe with a letter box)?

    Thank you!

there are options on the ps3 for picture, but im not sure wat u mean by distorted, the ps3 detects the best resolution so if u have 1080i tv it shoudl display as that resolution and keep it at 4:3

By distoted, I mean will it display a 16:9 format, on the 4:3 screen- therefore crunching the picture. It seems as though, according to you the ps3 should be able to display the 1080i video without this distortion on a 4:3 screen.
