I have a phillips 5.1 HTS3450 home theater. The philips system is awesome and i like the sound and everything but i might want to add more speakers to it..I was wondering if its possible to add more speakers to the subwoofer with a splitter or something because there are no extra slots on the sub for extra speakers.. The speakers are put into the sub with a plastic plug..

This sounds like you have an HTIB (Home Theater In a Box), with proprietary speaker connections. I doubt you can add more speakers because of this statement:
One reason HTIB's are cheap, is because it doesn't have a lot of inputs, for speakers, or other equipment (dvd players, cd players, game consoles, etc.), along with not having a lot of the fancy features, the separate, more expensive, components have.

Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear........
