This might be a dvd authoring problem but since I use DVDD and ANYDVD and NERO I'll post here. Often, in order to get a high quality backup,I use the start-end button in Nero Recode(ver. 6.6)"Backup Main Movie Only" funtion to get 100% quality by breaking the movie into 2 equal parts and making 2 discs. If I try to add the menu from the original to either or both of the backup discs it shows up on the backup discs but does not function. Same problem if I use the Remake DVD mode. Is there a Nero funtion to deal with this or is there some authoring software that might solve this? I'd like to be able to have the scene selection function work for each disc. Thanks for any tips.
You will not have this feature with Nero or Shrink. You can try the 21 day trial of CloneDVD this program allows you to split and have a functional menu on both disks. Or there are reauthoring programs sucha as DVDRemake which will do the same thing, this is 25.00 USD and there is no trial. Arniebear, Thanks for the quick response. Since I'm a huge fan of Slysoft I'll give the CloneDVD a try 1st. Where in the ripping/burning sequence would I use it. Would it be instead of Nero?
CloneDVD will compress and burn your disk, you do not need Nero. Read these guides on its use. http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72022 http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/1FOR1 BACKUP CLONEDVD&ANYDVD.pdf You can also use the free program VobBlanker and retain your menu function. You would just blank out the cells that you do not want and rip the first disk and then do the same with the second. Takes a little time to get used to but it works. http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/article_vobblanker_page1.html
