Im no expert on the subject but have looked into "overburning" ie burning more than 700MB onto a CD-R

from what i gather, you will need a recent version of Nero (5.5.10 for instance) to best ensure it will overburn , a reasonably new or high quality CD-writer and 800MB discs

as to how much you can fit on a disc im not sure but i doubt it will stretch to 760MB

as i said im no expert,
i dont know if VCD conversion will reduce the size of the file

here is a link that will be able to tell you more

you can also cut the file into 2 parts using programs such as VirtualDub or TMPGenc(both are freeware)

again im no expert am trying to work out how to do this myseld with DivX encoded avis just now myself

there is no chance of you burning a 760mb movie to a VCD on a CDR cause the movie has to be converted to mpeg then burned to VCD and when you convert that it wil increase even more like another 500mb. so your gonna have to convert it with tmpgenc http://www.tmpgenc.net to mpg then cut that movie in half then burn it to 2 VCDs with nero and best upgrade your nero http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm from here
