Hi, my os is xp sp2 and i just installed another hard disk on it, it currently is drive F, can i change it with my dvd ram letter which is E?
And another thing, if i install another hard disk to transfer a couple of files but i know that the hard disk has a virus in it, will the virus transfer to my other hard discs or do i need to transfer some files for the virus to transfer itself?

    Thanks

    go to control panel/administrative tools/computer management/disk management/

from there you can change the drive letters, just don't change the drive letter on your windows partition.

First, you need to change the driver letter of the DVD drive to something else, i.e. X:/ Then go back and change the HDD to E, if thats what you want it to be, and then go back again and change the DVD drive back to I guess F.

The way most viruses work, is that they are attached to a certain file, normally an execute file and as long as it hasn't spread to other .exes then as long as you don't transfer the infected file, it shouldn't transfer.

It'd pay to run virus & spyware scan on that drive assuming you were'nt going to,or at least have a program like spywareterminater or avast installed that will throw popups at you if anything tries to install itself.
