Hi, here is my question. Everytime, I try to access my operating system windows cd, for some reason the cd rom is not reading it. So I am not able to format the hard drive by using the cd. I did format, by right clicking on the drive. Now i need to get windows xp on the second drive- D drive. Can I copy my windows folder from C- hard drive to the next- D drive. Will it work properly

Not really no. The registry is set for the installation to the C drive.

If the CD is not scratched, your best bet would be to replace the drive. Sometimes even CD drive cleaning disks can help...might just be a dirty lens.
