Can I do this using Nero 6.6.0.14? I have some music videos that have a .vob extension (I assume they must have been ripped from a DVD). Since VOB are objects from DVD's shouldn't I be able to use one '.vob' or several to make a compiliation of music videos on a DVD? I'm not talking about transcoding or upconverting an '.avi or .mpeg2'. Any help much appreciated.
You are right. Nero Vision should be able to compile the vobs into a DVD. Experiment by opening Nero Vision, adding one of your .vobs and burning to a HDD location. If that works, try burning it to a DVD RW. Test it in your player. Doing a single .vob only takes a few minutes and if it doesn't work you can re-use the DVD RW. This process is basically identical to doing the other formats you mentioned. the .vob needs to be placed in a format with a couple of other file types (.ifo and .bup) to make it compliant.
