I made a dvd clip compilation on nero and I then burnt it and deleted the data off my hdd to free up space. Then I watched the dvd I had made and some of the clips weren't good enough, pq wise. So now I'm wondering if I can somehow edit the dvd by keeping the menu and all the buttons I have for it and just replace ugly pq clips with hpq clips keeping the duration of the dvd the same. Cause the files I used to make the dvd are now gone so can I just copy my made dvd into the hdd and somehow edit or replace some chapters with better pq clips?
If you want to keep all the menus and buttons than two come to mind. VobBlanker(free) and DVD Remake Pro.
Yes, I'm happy with everything else, it's just those clips I just want to replace with a higher quality clip. But thanks I'll look into those programs.
I'm sorry but I did a quick run through those two programs but I didn't see anything that would allow me to replace a chapter with another file. Dvd remake seems to be about the same as vobbanker but I don't know how I could use these programs to import a dvd then replace a chapter with another file in it's place. So how can I with these programs or with another program replace or remove a chapter and then put another file in it's place keeping the menu's and buttons working just as well as they had before?
I use VobBlanker only on occasions so I am not that familiar with it, but it seam to be the same principle. In Remake you can load existing DVD and use Split block in place you want to cut, than open other DVD with your new good video and use replace blocks. All these programs have some learning curve, but it can be done. Remake has pretty good tutorial. You can download it and go through it to see what is possible.
I didn't find anything that said "Split block" but no worries because I was still able to do what I needed to do. What I did was Import a dvd, then Import another dvd, this one coming up as project 2 and then I found the video file I wanted, right clicked and copied pgc and then went back to project 1 and looked for the file I wanted to replace. Found it, right clicked and then I hit "append copied pgc" then clicked on the cell I didn't want, delete and voila the file has now been successfully replaced with a better quality file. Then once I was done with all my replacements I hit export on my finished project, set the location for it, then opened the files with shrink and burnt the bastard. So thanks suba, dvd remake was the tool I needed. I'll try vobbanker again sometime in the future...Thanks again!
