Who told you that? I have never heard about this. I know people say you should not have too many programs running when you are burning. (They never say what is "too many".) This sounds like one of those pieces of "wisdom" that people pass around. Even in 1999 when I had a computer with a 450 MHz K6-2 with 256 Mb RAM and a 4x CD writer, I could surf the web and even download stuff via dial-up while i was burning audio CDs. Have you been having problems? You should be able to do this with no problems while on the net! If you have been having trouble burning CDs or DVDs, or erasing RW disks, I would be very surprised if surfing the web was the cause. Probably some other problem with your computer setup.
