hi All. I have made a few dvds with menus before using winavi and nero vision with no problems. Now, I would like to know a few things on subtitles/captions. Such as, 1. Can i extract subtitles/captions out of an avi file or do i need to convert it to vob files first? 2. What program if any do i need to use to do this? 3. Since i'm relatively new to this is there a guide or step-by-step directions for how to do this?

all i want is to be able to use the subtitles/captions when i watch my movie on my dvd player. Any ideas?? thanks for all help.

    hello!

Are the subtitles embedded to the image? That is, in other words, when you watch the video in Windows media player, for instance, do subtitles appear automatically and cannot be toggled off?

If so, then your subtitles have become part of the image and cannot be removed. They are "hardcoded".
