ok i have two dvd burners and a guy at compusa said its impossible to have two dvd burners because they will have conflict with each other is this true?
leezy, I have two burners, as well as many others at AD. I actually have burned two movies at once with two different burning programs, and two burners. Saved time and it was flawless. Both copies played perfect in the standalones. I would imagine that there are a few with triple. If I add the burner (DL all three) from the other system then I have three, yet only two hooked up to the main system. MovieDud
Teflon, you are disseminating inaccurate information. I have no problems at all running both burners in Ultra DMA mode, and both of mine are connected to the same ribbon cable.
This thread just goes to show how completely useless PC shops are! I have 3 burners, all work together in complete harmony! Teflonmyk, nice link & well remembered!
I must say that I am not sure that i would do 2 movies with separate software. I just think that the chances for conflicts increases. I am not saying that it is not possible, try it by all means. I just prefer to err on the side of caution. I am just not ready to live life in the fast lane yet!
@pulsar, I agree, I just ahd to make sure that there were not any progs. running at the same time. I only do this when trying to saves some time. I ahve actually did this three times (6 movies) no problem, even watched them all. I typically do not use this appraoch and actually do not encourage it, but it is possible...just be cautious. I have to admit I can throw caution to the wind on occasion! I sometimes try new things just for the hell of it! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It amazes me that some people buy/obtain software, then ask how to use it, without even trying it first! Have they got brains or what? LOL!!!!
I agree, especially when many of the progs. can be downloaded for trial. I challenge people, just download...try before you buy! Every program I own was done exactly that way...many through the advice of the team here at AD, I would download, try, and eventually buy! Thanks MovieDud
Now you know not to trust what Comp USA says. I also have 2 burners installed. NEC 2500a and BenQ 1640. Haven't tried burning two movies at once with seperate software but I think I will give it a try. Tom
@TMcCallie, I just burned two movies, two different softwares and no problems. Again I make sure there is nothing running in the background, except ANYDVD. Intervideo WinDVD might have conflict, but Copy 3 Plat. has not had any issues with ANYDVD for me. I have the AMD64 3200+ 230 GHZ. processor 1600 FSB. 320 GB of total HD and 512 mb Ram. I haveen't had any issues, so I will do dual burning once in a while. MovieDud
Do you think I would have any conflict useing nero recode 2 and DVD cpy3 for burning two movies at once? Tom
I cannot say because I have never use Recode 2, My older system by 6 months has Recode 2. Seems to do a good job. On the main system I have burn double video files using Nero and Copy to DVD. If you use the two progs. Just make sure you use great media and burn slow. The only way you will know is to try it. Copy 3 has it's on burning engine, but it is not adjustable with speed (Use 4x or slower media, or Process the Video files to HD and then use your burning software to burn. The first time I did this I used cheap media that I use just for some cartoons for my daughter...even then no problem...and if there were a problem no big loss. I like to experiment and try things just to know that it is or isn't possible. MovieDud
