Just have a general question about making backups, haven't had time to try it but looking for responses..... Is it ill-advised to use one program like dvd2to1 to compress while using another program like dvd decrypter to decrypt a dvd at the same time or to use dvd 2to1 and nero to burn at the same time???? I have a p4 2.6gh with 1.5gb ram and the sony 830a burner, I'm sure this question depends on the system specs, would mine be tweaked enough to do it consistently or will I notice defects in the finished back up copy?

    Thank You,

I have seen it discussed at this forum that multi-tasking during the ripping and encoding process would be okay, but not during the burn.

    I don't do either personally.

u cau during decrypt but while shrinking and burning u shouldn't do anything else. I've read that this can cause the pc to crash

i consistently surf/use pc during DVD Shrink/Decrypter stuff (can't speak for other programs) however i DO NOT touch pc during burn stage and whenever i have it's all gone to pap. especially bad (for me) is to kick off a torrent download during a burn - guaranteed to kill a burn dead
