I want to record some old family cassettes onto the computer and then burn them onto a CD. I have use Nero wave editor before by just placing a microphone in front of the tape player. Is there a way to record directly into the computer? My computer has a microphone jack in the front and the cassette player has a jack for headphones. Thank you for any help.

Check to see if your Cassette player an Computer have Line in and Line out Plug-ins,
if they do just get a Rca patch cord with a adaptor to hook up to your computer. As far as recording software I would highly recomend Polderbits. You can get it at www.polderbits.com It has a 30 day free trial.
    Hope this helps.
