Here is the thing i have several DivX files, which already contains english subtitles, thoug i can understand it, but most of my friends can't. I want to rip the sub from the DivX file then translate the subtitle and then add the same modified sub to the original DivX file, is it posible ?
These subtitles are burned into the movie and cannot be removed. If you find a copy of the video without subtitles, you can often find subs in many languages here: http://divxsubtitles.net/index.php
Well if they are really divx files then they could have embedded xsubs. Don't think that there are any tools for demuxing subs from DivX files anyway though. Plus they are bitmap based so you would have to OCR and I don't think there are any OCR apps that support xsubs as input.
