Can I run a Parallel with a serial hard drive

I have a dell 8400 with a 160 parallel hr and was wondering if I can also run a serial hd on the same pc without any major problems. Ed

 

does the mobo of the computer support sata? if so then yes you can run both. if not, you can get a PCI sata card to connect your sata hd to

 

Yes it does support both. Do you know if I need any special cables or support cards. Ed

 

if your mobo supports it then you do not need any cards, just a sata cable should be all you need
