I don't know very much about cellphones, so this may be a stupid question. I have a Motorola V220 (through Cingular) and after charging the battery today, I turned my phone off. A few hours later I turned the phone on only to find an error message of "Check SIM" waiting for me. I dismissed it, and decided to turn off the phone and then turn it back on, only to get a "Insert SIM" message. I can not do anything on my phone, and no SIM codes were ever asked for. I've talked to customer service and basically I have to determine if the problem is through my SIM Card or my phone. I saved all my phone numbers to my phone, and not my SIM (not sure if this was the smartest thing to do). If, in fact, the problem is with the phone, and not the SIM, is there some way that I will be able to salvage my address book?
yes you can save your phonebook entries, but you are going to need a sim that works so you can access them
