i actually stripped it too it core lol, seen all that stuff already, the drive is a sata drive, how much you buy the chord? you can buy the chord for like 2-3 buck i think...and the power supply for another 3 bucks...which isnt bad, jes comp. parts, but newais, you cant really do much with the hdd connected to your computer "yet" lol, so far if you do, you jes get files and folders that dont make sense...i think its not nfts format..but yeah, hopefully you find out to put vid on the hdd

your pc wont do much browsing files.

so there is a program called: 360 explorer (something like dat)

and it makes sense there. u can add video and songs more quickly. drag and drop so thats an advantage.

hey does ne one in here know how to use the x360 xplorer?

In short, no, you can't save any video onto xbox 360 HDD from computer or DVD. Not even with Xplorer 360.

In longer explanation, you can't save anything onto xbox 360 HDD because all files on Xbox 360 HDD are required to be "Digitally signed". Since all of our files are not "digitally signed", Xbox 360 HDD wont acknowledge those at all.

Even the movies you download from Xbox live are digitally signed!

    To *Agent47*

Sorry to disappoint you but I have done the same thing with you - i got a cable connecting between HDD and my PC successfully - it wont accept any files from your PC because your files on PC are not "digitially signed" thus Xbox 360 wont accept it.

I would be surprised if you manage to crack this "digital signed" problem as you are the first person to do so in whole (cyber) world of Xbox 360 community. As we speak, many people in X360 communities are still working on this problem.

Nevertheless, let us know how you doing with your new cable :D

for ur kind information i know videos need to be digitally signed.

and i got the cable, i connected the hdd to my pc.

i used xplorer 360 to browse the files. the first thing i done was copy all my music to the HDD which is much faster on the pc.

videos could not be uploaded obviously because they were not digitally signed. although i figured out how to upload music and pictures.

i had a full 7 hours at school thinking about my xbox 360 at home!!!

before i could even give thought to the video thingy i looked at the connector which connect the HDD to the xbox.

if i find a 2.5" HDD and use a cable to connect the xbox connector and than push the empty case onto the xbox with the bigger HDD on top it shall work.

it will just have to be formatted correctly. :D :D :D

    -----

anyway, i cant wait for the ps3 to come out, than i wont have to waste shitty time to work out how to play videos on the shitty 360.

ps3 is gonna be much better, even though xbox maybe better in technical specs but games and features will be better. the longer they take to release the better it will be! :D :D :D

    Hi *Agent47*,

That's great to hear that you successfully upload mp3 onto HDD.

But did you play those successfully on Xbox 360?

I have uploaded mine but it reads as corrupted file, or wont appear at all at Xbox 360 dashboard.

Apparently, you need to re-write media.xmi to include all your mp3, so that Xbox 360 will read those successfully and play those successfully.

Otherwise, it wont read and play your mp3 on HDD if you haven't modified media.xmi first. I have tried it but not working. Plus lots of people told me that they have tried similar thing but not working.

Just a pain in backside if you ask me. I have got huge mp3 collection and I am not going to "rip" my many cds to Xbox 360 HDD again, just because Microsoft's arrogant assumption that everyone's MP3 collection are totally illegal!

If you dont mind, care to share your tips for uploading and playing mp3 onto Xbox 360 HDD successfully from PC via cable?

On the other note, I agreed with you about PS3. I can't wait for it. I am really looking forward to get it later this year as i know it is better than Xbox 360 because of one most crucial important key.... That Playstation is far more flexbile about how you use it ie. I can use Mpeg 2 films on cd-r on ps2 successfully unlike xbox 360!

In fact, I am considering at this moment whether to sell off my xbox 360 or not, despite of the fact that I only got it 3 weeks ago. Waste of money I agree but I'm lucky cos I got it for free as I won it at office quiz game! lol :D At least I know that I will be more happy with extra cash that i made by selling xbox 360. Extra cash serve me very well, much better than xbox 360 itself! lol

To people whom considers about buying Xbox 360 - DONT BUY IT! Wait for PS3's release first so you can see how good PS3 is, comparing to crap Xbox 360!

Microsoft ought to re-name itself to more approriate name.... Mega-s**t! hmm. it sounds similar as microsoft lol!!!

    Cheers,
    Diego
