I'm using TMPGEnc to convert avi's to mpeg and it works fine, but is there anyway to speed the process up? I tried to convert on movie and it said that it would take 43 hours!! Help!

Well, you can speed up the process, but you end up taking a loss in the resulting video quality. Anyway, see if the result is acceptable to you by changing the 'motion search precision' to a faster setting, or if you are making mpeg2, lower the DC component precision.

Hate to say this, but you'd be doing yourself a big favour by getting a faster CPU.
