Can I still play games I bought after softmod?

I softmodded my wii to play backup games. My friend has brought some of his games over and we played them fine. I don't want my wii to get bricked. Can I still update my wii on new games if it ask to update? or do I have to make a new iso of the games I bought and burn them? Hope not.

 

game updates differ from wii console updates. i play my originals online updates fine.

 

I turned off the wii24connect to prevent the system updates. If I get a update on a game, is that bad? I used brick blocker anyway and wouldn't do it if I saw it, but just in case the kids do.

 

keep wii24 turned off, any updates keep eye on hombrew sites.
games updates in my exp has been purely for the game.
