Lets say I have some dvd files on my pc (VOB) or a DVD in the DVD-ROM , is there a way for the xbox to play it via streaming ?

If i recall , the media player doesnt know how to play VOB files.

I just need to play the videoinfo.vob ? or which file will start the dvd menu?

does it matter which version of media player I use ?

Use Xbox Media Center on the xbox and play the vob files themselves there are usually 4 of them.....about the version you can go to torrentspy.com and search xbmc and get the newest one there....
