    Happy New Year!
I am a new member here, I guess you could call me a "BurnOholic",I have been reading the posts for quite some time now and that has been very helpful, they have answered all the questions I have thought of till now.
I have Nero 7, ver. 7.0.0.0 and it comes with Back It Up 2, ver 2.0.0.0. I am running Windows XP-SP2. My question is will a back up made by this program or any other similar program actually work if Windows completely crashes and I have to do a full clean install, or am I just wasting my time? Right now, I back up my important files on CD, mainly I can reinstall what ever programs I need too and replace these files, but it is time consuming, coping files, retrieving up-dates, trying to find program keys and so forth. If Back It Up actually works it would save a lot of time and disks.
I had a complete crash last summer, I lost everything on my hard drive, about 40 Gigs of files, luckily I had most of it on disks, otherwise all of it would of been gone!
My main question is, If the Nero program and all associated files are corrupted and I have to reinstall it, will it recognize the back-up disk for what it is?
    Thank You,
    Have a great day,

    Barry

I love nero, but I don't trust backitup at all. I trust an older version of drive image from before symantic took them over. Norton ghost should be trustworthy also. If I remember correctly they bought out powerquest for the backup engine from drive image.

    Hello,
Thanks for the response whompus, I was hopeing that people who have had experience using this program ,good or bad, would of replied. After reading "refbrands's" latter post, it dose not give me very much confidence about the program at all.
I do find that Back It Up 2 is very user friendly making a back up, compared to the Windows back up program (the back-ups I made with it were useless when I tried to restore my computer, by the way), but I guess I will not really know how good the program is till I have to restore with it, there is not much information on the Net about Back It Up, that I can find.
    Good day,
    Barry
