I have two starview boxs, a new one that resets itself and the old one that doesnt therefore have to kkep entering codes. I still have the software disc from the new box. Can I upload this on to the old box so it will reset itself without having to enter codes.
No you can't put the firmware that's for The Box onto your original S******w 1 box,you will need to put ver 4.00 on the S******w 1 box or if it is a clone box then you will have to put ver 2.57 FIXED All firmware/loader can be found here http://eko.4shared.com/ You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link. Now select the firmware either ver 4.00 for a genuine Star***w 1 boxes or ver 4.50 if you're in Ireland or ver 4.51 if you're in the UK for 'The Box' or if you have a clone box select version 257 FIXED all of which can be found in the 'firmware' folder. Updating Firmware Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY. (The Starview does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM) Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT that matches the one that is being used Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC. Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase then Download completed message on your PC. Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot Turn off and turn back on , then plug your tv cable and scart back in * You should download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
You cant put firmware for different boxes on other boxes but you will find the latest firmware in my signature. KMAC.
