I just bought a brand-new DSi that came with v1.4U firmware. I thought it was the most recent, but I checked my "system update" option, and it says there is an update available? Is it okay to download the update and what does it do? Also, I have read that some people say to avoid R4 and whatnot.. well generally speaking what is the highest regarded flash-cart solution? For example, for Xbox, it was widely known that Xecuter was pretty much the best on the scene. What is the story on the DSi scene? Also, is GBA emulation possible on DSi? I heard of a "DS iplayer" that claims that GBA emulation is not possible with other flash carts..
1) GBA is not possible on DSi without the extra processor provided with the DSPlayer, it is being looked at by other manufacturers but all will need a processor to help the DSi. 2) At the moment all updates are OK, however it will not always be the case, never update straight away, wait and see what happens (the forums will be rife with the issues). At some point an update could permanently disable the flashcarts 3) Buy a flashcart that can be updated, AceKard 2i, EZ Flash Vi, M3iZero, the R4 is a nightmare as there are currently 40 different types - so you do not know what you are getting
