I just got a 30g ipod for christmas. i was wondering if i could use more than one computer to add music to my ipod????????? thanx
I've had no problems going back and forth. I've got a 60 gig photo, 4 gig nano, a Dell Inspiron 9100, and Dell Dimension 4700 (both Windows XP.) They all work perfectly well together.
I'm no expert on ipods but I would guess that as long as itunes is installed on both, it shouldn't be a problem.
Yep you can use more than one computer i think, its just that when you go onto the second computer i think u have to format your ipod so you don't lose all your songs from the previous computer
yt72 I took it to mean different computers for different purposes. My bad. I use my laptop for Podcasts, etc and my desktop for the main library. I then go back and forth between both of them with both iPods and have no problems. As for using someone else's library, you can do that too, as long as they have iTunes. mummery I've hooked up my iPod to other people's computers. I just made sure iTunes was set to "manually manage music."
It isn't really possible using iTunes, well, not in a simple manner anyway. I recommend using an alternative program that doesn't update your iPod when you plug it in and thus losing all your songs.. This is a great program for it. You have to pay, but I highly recommend it. http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/
That's odd Lethal. I just hooked up my iPod to my cousin's computer. He took about 100 of my tunes, and I took about 50 of his. My iPod is fine. Should I consider myself lucky nothing happened?
Lethal_B: That problem can easily be solved. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> iPod Tab and make sure the bubble next to Manually manage songs and playlists is filled in. I have about 100 songs from one computer and 100 from the other and so far no deleting.
