ok hey once again i have another problem. i have a nvdiea geforce 4 mx420 in my computer now and it isnt integretaed. it has Agp for the card. my new nvidea 6800 is AGP. can i take out my geforce and put my new one in or do i have to keep my geforce. if i can put my new one in then how much of a difference will it do. will i get better framerate with the 6800 than the geforce. help!?!?!
yes, obviously, take that old crusty thing, and stick in your 6800 NOW, what are u waiting for?, you will get a much more better performance overall. trust meee
You will see improvement in your frame rate and resolution but the overall performance is also limited by other hardware components such as your processor, your memory, HDD speed, etc. So even though you have a high powered graphics card if your system doesn't have enough resources it can end up being a drag on your system if it monopolizes your system resources. You don't have to do this but might I suggest that you add a PCI slot fan next to the AGP slot to add extra cooling for the video card. I'm sure the new card comes with an onboard fan but this card will add more heat to your system.
