Sky via satellite hasn't been cracked.

Their encryption is pretty much bullet proof. They are issuing new card in the new year.

The only way to watch it via satellite is with a valid subscription

fair enough mate i guess i will have to wait for the new card to see what happens.
meanwhile how about cable, any chance of free cable, or free via minimum subscription?

the new card is being issued by sky, it will probably have tighter security,

As for free tv, it all depends on your area.

Are you connected for cable tv ?
Are you in an MMDS area ?

MMDS is cable tv broadcast over microwave signals, houses with mmds have a mesh dish/antenna on the roof

You can try your virgin cable wire.. if you find the normal 5 channels coming out of it then it is still live.

Then it's bootsale time for an old cable box for your area, and also some good searching about how to stop the device talking back to the network.. normally involves cutting a trace and grounding the "out" side.. Virgin usually send the "unauthorised box" kill signal at 12 noon on sunday, so wwe isn't worth it..
