i have bought a pre owned psp that had a 5.50 ofw on it. i checked through other sites (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=183671) my date code says 8A but i dont know what firmware it was before i bought it.
download chickHEN enabler R2 and pspident pur chickHEN on your psp first then PSP ident and post what motherboard it says you have on here chickHEN Enabler R2 pspident
with a pandora battery and a mms, i have flashed a few 200x series some worked fine some did not, the ones that did not, would not let me boot into the MMS menu, it did not damage the psp just would not do anything at all, this is an option you can try ChickHen R2 & GEN-A 5.03 its not really permanent flashing the psp its a temp thing does work for some peoples scenarios
ChickHEN R2 isn't going to work on 5.50. The only way for you is with Pandora, unless you have a TA-088v3 motherboard, in which case what you are trying to do is impossible.
Well if it came with any firmware 3.95 or higher than it's most likely a non-pandorable motherboard, but since you don't know what fw it came with, I really don't know, maybe the date code would do something, I don't really know...
OK if it had above 3.95 when bought new this would be a good probable indication it has a TA088v3 Motherboard MOBO, not definite but a good chance.
in other forums, it said if it has a date code 8A it is hackable and if the serial code doesn't start with HU it is hackable and my psp has these specifications so it is probably hackable
Do you have a connection set up? If you upgrade to CFW they are taken out and you have to set them up again.
its okay i solved the problem, i just updated to 5.00 m33-6 and the internet works fine thanx for our replies anyway
