Hi, I'm considering grabbing Nero 7 but before I do I want to make sure that installing it won't cause any problems with my existing installation of Nero 6. Any thoughts? Thanks.

No, you can have one or the other, but not both. If you try to install nero7 with 6 already installed, you will be told that an older version/installation already exists on your PC and will be asked to uninstall it before the install of nero7 can complete.

Thanks, johnl123. Can't even install it to a different folder or drive? Damn. Perhaps I should follow the adage if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Actually I have both on my system (Nero 7 and Nero 6 OEM) and it runs just fine...Just make sure you install Nero 7 first, then install to a different Program Folder Nero 6,it should install fine after that...both are up and working on my system.....reason I have both is due to Lightscribe issues with Nero 7 .....

Hehe, I thought about doing that but I got to thinking about the registry settings, shared and unshared, conflicts, etc, and thought better of it. I'm really suprised it works for you, I'm glad it does.

It's all that many people can do to get one version working correctly, let alone two!

I have 6 on another PC and 7 on this one.

Is it worth upgrading from 6.6.1.4 to the current version of 7? I don't seem to be having any problems with my current version, so I am hesitant to upgrade. Thanks for any input.

Seems the latest updates have solved the issues I was having with Nero 7,Lightscribe works as well as DvdShrink burning issues, now I have uninstalled Nero 6 and running only 7, I would recommend it.. has lots of nice features as well as fully supported ...take the plunge...
