FINALLY figured out how to use Nero Vision Express to turn AVI into MPEG and then burn onto a blank CD for watching on my DVD player. NOW the next goal is can I use Nero to either a) fit a movie over 80 minutes onto one disc OR b) split it into two seperate files? Thanks.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 80 min, but how big the overall file may be. You can compress a dvd-9 to a blank .... so you can actually compress a 3 1/2 hour movie(LOTR) to one dvd.

Maybe ya need to be a lil more specific. Do what??? What so called movie over 80min? Do you mean a dvd movie?

Nero's Recode 2 will do dvd-9's to dvd-5. Or you can use DVD Shrink to rip and compress, then use Nero to burn.

At least without great difficulty, it isnt possible to split via NVE (to my knowledge anyways)

Doable but it depends on the format, the "80 Minute" rule is only for AudioCDs (and maybe Karaoke and MixedMode cds)

You might be interested in TMPGEnc, it's easy to use and far more functional. For more info on encoding to (S)VCD with TMPGEnc: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43085
