I downloaded Media Player Classic, but can no play VOB files. I have VOB files, VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB, VTS_01_4.VOB (ripped DVD files from torrent). Where is the problem?
Drag VTS_01_1.VOB onto 'GSpot'. It should confirm that there is valid mpeg2 files present. MPC can play MPEG2 without external codecs being installed. You can also try VLC. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/gspot.cfm
I tried examine files: open VOB file with GSpot, it show(for all files): File Type: Unknown Mime Type: Unknown in the proposed Codec Solutions and Tests window: Rendering failed. Following error is the reported by DirectShow: 0x80040265: [unknown] The downloaded movies contains only VOB files, there are no BUP or IFO files.
It seems they are not video files. See if Mediainfo gives any more information. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/mp3_tools/mediainfo.cfm
