ok I can burn dvds but the problem is if my burner is the slave I can not get the slave to turn the dma on. only the master drive will have the dma on when i need both of them to be on. i tried to delete all the drivers and the reload everything but still only the master still is the only drive that will read as dma i also tried to set them up as cable select because my pc can do that but still only the master will show the dma. any help would be good.
This is a very simple/basic guide showing "how to enable DMA back On by uninstalling the driver(s)". This will solve your DMA issues nearly 99% most of the times, unless you're the few that has a Nvidia driver, then I can't help you. You'll need to google on the net for an answer on that. <><> To Enable DMA back On by "uninstalling" its driver(s) by Alkohol <><> Enjoy it!!
I had two drive connected to the same IDE channel but could only set one for DMA mode: Try this since this also happened to me. Your HDD should be connected to the primary IDE channel 1 Your burners be connected to the secondary IDE channel 2 With the PC shut down, disconnect the IDE cable connector that connects both drives to the IDE interface on the mother board (IDE channel 2), reboot the pc, then shut down. Reconnect the IDE cable connector to the mother board and reboot, both drives should be detected and reinstalled. Check and make sure that they are set for DMA. or use the one at a time approach With the PC shut down, disconnect both drives from their IDE cable connectors, now with both drives disconnected, reboot the pc, then shut it down. Connect the master to the connector at the end of the IDE cable and boot up, check to make sure it's set to DMA mode XX, repeat the procedure for the slave drive using the middle IDE connector.
