I have a ps2 scph-30001 R and a dvd+rw drive-if I burn a dvd+rw game should it be able to work in the ps2? and if not would a dvd+r work? (I can't use dvd-r or dvd-rw because my burner can't burn those formats)
I think it depends on the model of your PS2. Older models just play DVD-R, I'm told the latest models play both DVD-R and DVD+R.
i have a ps2 v7 with the messiah2 chip, and i have the game of "the lord of the rings: the two towers" copied on a hp dvd+rw and it works great
why don't you try with a rw and see if it works, if yes then great, if no, then just erase the disc and copy something else. I think it will depending on the disc. I play DVD+R on my SCP3 PS2 and it works most of the time. I have a Magic 3.1 chip.
My PS2 v4 will play DVD+R/DVD-R but will not recognize DVD+RW. I have not tried DVD-RW. Maybe v4 is the cutoff from old to new player/laser. Definetly will not read cheap discs.
