In another part of the city that I live in, in England, I have heard that VM have a device that they walked around the area with which could detect the boxes? And they actually caught quite a number of people and fined them all about £5000!

I'm with Starview, and although I laughed this rumour off, I was just wondering apart from telling VM that I have one of these boxes is there any way that they can be detected?

I know that they do not register when they are plugged in :)

i do believe it possible to detect line activity (some spec. modulation , noises ), but as far as u have basic sub along with the starview--- i doubt it ,
unless kind neighbours rats u out or trader ( if u bought box via net) gives them delivery/biling adress or they can trace u IP while u browsing this board --- there are many ways m8 lol
on the other hand-- it is not MI5 or CIA we are talking about

Thats why I did laugh it off but I just thought that its better to ask just incase whatever they said was true.

Oh don't worry about the neighbours ratting one another out, this entire area has one or the other something dodgy attached on their tv, lol
