I have been backing up my DVD’s for a couple of years now. I mostly use dvd shrink 3.2.0.15 to rip the DVD to my hard drive and the I use Nero or roxio to burn the DVD. I use different brand of dvd+r media for my copies. This past Wed. March 8th I installed DSL through sprint\earthlink and now I can not burn a dvd. I can still rip it to my hard drive but I can’t burn. My burner is a Plaxtor 708a and I have the latest firmware. I tried everything I know and was hoping for some help. thanks
Seems like anytime a major or sometimes minor change is made to a persons PC by adding or removing stuff, Nero falls apart. Try removing it and reinstalling it. I'd also use Nero's driver cleaner and registry checker as well. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Driver_CleanTool_and_RegistryChecker.html Nero and Roxio don't always work very well together. On occasion this causes problems. You should post a Nero burn log so we can see whats going on.

and you also have That will burn too close to the edge of the disc, or exen exceed the size. Disable the high compatibility, you don't need it, and adjust the DVD target size to not more than 4400MB(I would go 4350MB to be safe)
under the original post with log. Top right of the post a little pen and pad. Click on it and that window will come up. and check for your serial number and delete it and click out of the window and it will take out the serial number.
taking out the serial number has nothing to do with your burner. If you don't remove it some one will hijack # and be using it for them selves and when you upgrade you'll get flagged.
I couldn't find it in the log, is your firmware up to date? Are you trying to encode and burn at the same time? You should first Shrink the movie and save it to HDD and then burn, otherwise you have a great chance to get a failed burn.
@DonnyB - i've edited out 2 occurrences of your serial number, pls make a note of where they are within a logfile for future postings of logfiles.. - you have Roxio on your system, it tends to interfere with Nero, remove Roxio via http://www.microadvantage.net/utilities/index.php?details=30#A30
