Can' t get my d: drive to read any kind of cd/dvd/ discs...

For some reason the drive just stop recognizing all forms of disc media...any kind of help is appreciated.

 

Its about 5 years old, but the drive worked two days ago and now it doesnt.

 

Have you added any new programs lately or changed any settings recently?

{As a footnote, my first burner lasted about 2 years under heavy use}
