    I just bought a LiteOn Lite-On LH-20A1L, now when I go to burn files to a DVD in Nero, the option to set the booktype as DVD ROM is no longer there, the only option is SMART-BURN. I used to be able to set the booktype as DVD Rom on my old burner. Is there any way to get it to allow me to set the booktype as DVD ROM, or does this model not have the capability?

    Thanks

    I haven't tried imgburn yet, it will probably work, I'm curious as to why Nero wouldn't give me that option.

    @ucfmoe
    Go here:
    Code:
    http://us.liteonit.com/us/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=152
    and download:BookType - Bitsetting Utility v1.3.5.

    Burn On,
    Russell

    PS I have the model with no lightscribe option (Lite-On LH-20A1P)

    Well, I tried imgburn and the Bit Setting Tool. Looks like it can only be done using DVD+r. Now I gotta figure out what to do with this stack of -r's that I have in front of me LOL. Thanks for everybody's help.

    Hi ;-)
    Why's that.
    You don't need to bitset - media.
    Many will tell you can't bitset - media.
    For our purposes it is true, with domestic drives you can't bitset - media.
    However if you want to be purist.
    It is possible.
    Just neither needed or practical for home users.
