can you burn d/l with nero 6

    How come when i insert a dual layer disk in the dvd dual layer drive nero 6 only shows burnable area as 5G? i have a video ts folder that is 7G and when i try to add it to Nero it exceeds the maximum allowed "space" ..sorry for my poor technical terms im new to this.

    You just need to change the setting from dvd5 to dvd9:

    thanks...but sorry for soundgin dumb but i can't find the option to change the settings like you show on your screen???

    You need to have a new DVD compilation open in order to see this dropdown selection at the bottom.

    May I ask if this is for a full DVD backup of else. Don't mean to be nosy. The reason I'm asking is because Nero might no be the best program to do DL DVD backups with.

    it is a dvd9 backup (full)..the dropdown menu does NOT appear even with new compilation. ARRGGHHH

    You have a dual layer burner correct? Which part of Nero are you using to do the backup?
    DVD Decrypter is also a good program to use for dual layer. Rip in iso mode then burn in iso picking the mds file.

    Yes have a dual layer drive that i have used to burn with alcohol 120% before. I have put the video ts folder from my original disk onto desktop and use nero core to try and burn ( file-new-dvd video files).

    Try Nero Express - DVD-Video Files. You can add the video_ts folder here and change the size. Here's a pic from that:

    Which version of Nero 6 do you have?

    tried that too mate...no luck the window to change to dvd9 just does not appear!!!!!

    The only time I don't see this option is when Nero is set for a CD in smart start. Which version are you using?
