I recently backed up a personal dvd and when I went put it in my player it was all cubical and staggered.

Can I try to "re-burn" my back up on a more quality DVD +/- disk or will I still have the same issues?

Also I am using an older system to burn

    its a Pentium III 667mhz w/256mb ram using a Microadvantage 8DVDRW-B13 – DVD±RW 8X Superdrive

I also followed a guide and used DVDfab, DVD Decrypter and burned using DVD Shrink an easy but somewhat time consuming process.

I use to use dvdXcopy and always had great luck but that software was written specifically for my liteon burner which died and hence I can no longer use it.

Thanks in advance for any input!!!

once a dvd has been backed up the protection is gone so you can even do simple copy/paste via windows explorer, provided there's no actual corruption on the disc. you can but try to copy it..

if u got a bad burn and ur backed up dvd, chances are u'll get a bad rip, but u can try to read it at a slow rate, and burn at a slow rate

Nope. You can never get a better picture quality than the original. Same as with converting mp3s to a higher bitrate wav file. If your original disc is pixelated and choppy, the copy will not be any better. If you have the original source - VHS, net download, etc. - you may be able to redo it with a higher bitrate which will cut down on the blockiness of your vid.
