I see tons of xbox 360s selling on ebay for about $75 with 3 red lights. there are tons of guides claiming that you can fix your xbox 360 at home in an hour. I'm pretty good with eletronics, but i was wondering if anyone had actually fix their own xbox with the 3 red lights. thanks
I just watched these three vids on youtube my Milko and it seemed easy to fix. but is it always a problem of over heating ? and has anyone actually fixed their own? thanks
Ya, I fixed a dozen of them with the Llamma X-clamp fix and RBJTech's cooling mod. Once you fix the RROD error, you need to keep the 360 running cooler so the problem(or other problems) don't occur again.
i fixed mine with arctic silver 5 on the GPU, CPU, and heatsinks. it still feels a little hot so i went on ebay and got a Talismoon Whisper Fan to keep it from over heating again. its susposed to circulate the air like 58% better. in the meantime ive been playing it without my new fan, and so far no problems. i fixed it a week ago.
I fixed one with AS5 on the gpu and cpu. I also did the 12v fan mod, the fan shroud mod and added an extra fan blowing down under the dvd drive in front of the cpu heat sink by adding the extra fan header. This fan is also set at 12v. I also did the penny fix, but only added one penny per "marshmellow" pad. I have more mods I want to do with it, but it is working great now for a month strong.
