I have a dvd-rw that I tried to copy a movie to but the movie wasn't a full version but it finalized. Is there away I can erase it to copy the movie over again even though it's been finalized? Thanks

Ok I installed the ImgBurn and when I went to tools and tried to go to drive it wasn't highlighted for me to select it.

Is it only one disk that is showing the error.
Was it originally burned on the PC.

So, this isn't a case of one disk that can't be erased, it's a problem with the drive reading any disk?
What program was used to burn the disk.

    I used AVS video converter.

I guess the first time I converted the movie to DVD format to burn to the dvd-r the whole movie didn't convert. So I just had like the first 2 minutes of the movie on the dvd-r. So I wanted to erase that off and try to put the whole movie on the disk. I had a couple other DVD-Rs I wanted to erase that had bad copy movies on them but I got the same thing.

DVD-R's cannot be erased after they are burned - only DVD-RW's

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but I have a similar problem. Just that in my case, I do have a Sony DVD-RW disk. Things were fine with this disk, and I had erased and re-written around 10 times. However, the last time, I used ImgBurn to burn an ISO to this disk. The burn process went fine, and I was able to use the disk as required. However, now when I try to put new stuff on this disk, I keep getting errors. I have tried CDBurnerXP as well as ImgBurn. Also looked for the option to erase like you have specified, but with the disk in the drive, the option for 'Drive' under the 'Tools' menu doesn't get highlighted. I am posting below screenshots of what I notice from ImgBurner.

This one is the information I get when I go into the write mode in ImgBurner.

The one below is the error I get when I try to do an erase from Mode -> Discovery.

This is a screenshot from CDBurnerXP which shows the logical space. The size looks abnormal, considering I have a 4.7G disk.

And finally, screenshot of the physical space. Note how it says 0.

I feel that when I burnt the image using ImgBurn, it accidentally finalized the disc. But I was under the impression that a finalized RW disc can still be re-written.
