    Hello,

I have a Micro-Solutions Backpack DVD+RW external USB 2.0 drive. I really hate USB 2.0! My drive is always timing out on me. Every time I go to burn a disc, my computer doesn't recognize my drive. I have to always unplug and then plug it back in. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to reboot...or reinstall drivers for drive. Micro-Solutions have no e-mail support and I don't feel like calling long distance. Is there any way I can put my external dvd drive inside my pc? There are 4 screws on the bottom of the drive. I unscrewed them then tried to pull out the drive but something is tugging on it from the inside. Please help. Thanks.

Hi vertigo17, External drives are USUALLY internal drives mounted in an external box adapter. I'm not too sure if all externals are this way but most are. The drive has to be plugged into an IDE socket and also a power plug inside that box. Both plugs are somewhat of a tight fit so that may be whats holding it in the case. I wouldn't just pull hard unless you verify that it comes out that way. Good luck.
