Hi people - i have just purchased a cello dr-810 dvd recorder and was wanting to know if you can record something onto dvd while watching another channel? I already have a goodmans hdd recorder and this cannot be done but surely you must be able to do this somehow as it would be pointless recording the same channel you are watching??? Maybe someone could send me a link to the forum these questions can be answered as i've searched for ages with no response. Again, my question is "Can you record one programme onto dvd while watching another?" Maybe it has something to do with the way i've set up the system but i'm assuming it should work the same way as a video player used to?

i dont think you can with unless you have 2 inputs coming from the source of what you want to be recorded such as cable or sat, and even then the recorder would have to have the ability to do this. i know mine cant do it but some newer ones may be able to, i dont think so though. you might want to try getting tivo or dvd if you have directv or dish network though i know you can with that.
