I've looked everywhere for a solution to this problem and i just cant find 1. The network was workin fine until i reformatted my hard drive and i cant see what is the problem.

Im using Internet Connection Sharing and it is setup by an internet connection connected to PC1 then PC1 is connected to PC2. Both systems are running WIndows xp sp2. The internet works fine on both machines, PC1 can access the workgroup (MSHOME) and can view the folders shared by PC2. But when you try and access the workgroup on PC2 it comes up with an error saying: "Workgroup Name is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource." Both computers are on the same workgroup and each computer only has one user account and the accounts are set to administrator. Netbios is enabled on both systems and Computer browser is running on both.
I dont know what else to try please help me. Thank you in advanced.

You might have to "re-share" the folders from PC1. You can also try using the IPX protocol to see and use the network. You'll have to add that from your network properties.

    A couple things to try:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318030
Make sure that Nebios over TCP/IP is enabled

Also since you said it is a fresh install, double check Windows (or 3rd party) firewall settings to make sure it is allowing file and print sharing on the local network only, ports 135, 137-139 if I remember right. For Windows firewall go into the exceptions tab and check the box allowing file and print sharing, or from a command prompt type
netsh firewall set service type = FILEANDPRINT mode = ENABLE

Egads....yes, as Xian mentions..but if I were you, I'd turn the Windows Firewall off completely.

Hey i got it workin it was my mcaffee firewall blockin it, i should of checked that really but i have had this set up before and mcaffee has never done this, but thanks alot for the the help.

There is one more problem though its when i try to play multiplayer games over the internet on PC2(this may also be the case when trying to connect to P2P programs, but im not sure because i dont have one installed at the min) my mcaffe firewall on PC1 is blockin it so if any one is familiar with mcaffee do they know how to resolve it.
